What is America250’s national volunteering effort called?

America250’s national volunteering effort is called America Gives.

The initiative was designed to make public service part of the semiquincentennial rather than limiting the anniversary to ceremonies and historical displays. Its purpose is to encourage people to contribute time and effort to communities, charities, and civic projects during the approach to 2026 and beyond.

America Gives reflects a broader theme in America250 programming: connecting the history of the United States with actions that shape its future. The commission’s plans also included America’s Field Trip, an education program inviting students to explore what the country means to them.

America Gives is not the same organization as the United States Semiquincentennial Commission. The commission coordinates the national commemoration, while America Gives describes a service-focused program associated with it. The name is therefore a program title, not a nickname for the anniversary itself.
