Taylor Swift played guitar while performing “august” at the 2021 Grammys.
Swift performed “august” as the middle part of a Folklore and Evermore medley at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards on March 14, 2021. The performance began with “Cardigan,” moved into “august,” and concluded with “Willow.”
During “august,” Swift played guitar inside the cottage-like set. Folklore collaborators Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner accompanied her, making the performance a notable live presentation of the album’s intimate, fictional storytelling.
The Grammy performance is sometimes remembered simply as a “Folklore medley,” but the three songs came from two albums: “Cardigan” and “august” from Folklore, followed by “Willow” from Evermore. This distinction helps separate the performance from later Eras Tour appearances.
