The indie band with the repetitive name that released Life Fantastic in 2011 was Man Man.
Life Fantastic was Man Man’s fourth studio album, released on May 10, 2011, through Anti- Records. The Philadelphia-based experimental rock group was led by Ryan Kattner, who performed under the stage name Honus Honus. The album marked a notable change in the band’s sound: its arrangements were more polished and restrained than the deliberately chaotic style associated with some of Man Man’s earlier work.
Producer Mike Mogis, known for his work with Bright Eyes and Monsters of Folk, produced the record. Its songs include “Knuckle Down,” “Piranhas Club,” “Steak Knives,” and the title track. “Life Fantastic” is sometimes confused with On Oni Pond, but that was Man Man’s next album, released in 2013.
