What Guns N' Roses video did Arnold Schwarzenegger appear in?

Arnold Schwarzenegger appeared in Guns N’ Roses’ “You Could Be Mine” video. The 1991 video tied the band’s song directly to Schwarzenegger’s role as the T-800 Terminator in Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

The video combines footage of the band performing with scenes of the T-800 being assembled and sent to track down Guns N’ Roses. Schwarzenegger appears as the Terminator, while clips also feature elements and characters from the film, including John Connor and the T-1000.

“You Could Be Mine” was written for Terminator 2 and became one of the most recognizable songs associated with the movie. It was released on the soundtrack and later appeared on Use Your Illusion II. The video’s humor comes from the Terminator analyzing the band members before deciding that eliminating them would be a waste of ammunition.

A frequent mix-up is confusing the video with a simple concert performance or with another Guns N’ Roses film tie-in. Schwarzenegger does not merely appear in a still image or promotional clip: he is central to the video’s Terminator storyline. The song’s title also inspired the film’s promotional connection to the band.
