What Grammy category did Taylor Swift’s Folklore win in 2021?

Taylor Swift’s Folklore won Album of the Year at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

The award recognized the album as a complete artistic work, rather than singling out “august” as an individual winning song. Folklore won at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, held on March 14, 2021.

Swift became the first woman to win Album of the Year three times at that point, following Fearless and 1989. The victory also made Folklore the first album released during the COVID-19 pandemic to win the category.

“august” was performed during the ceremony in a medley with “Cardigan” and “Willow.” The performance connected Folklore to Evermore, but “Willow” comes from Evermore and was not part of the Folklore album itself.
