What Foo Fighters cover song is on the "My Hero" single?

The story behind the answer

The Foo Fighters cover on the “My Hero” single is “Baker Street,” originally recorded by Gerry Rafferty. The Foo Fighters included their version on the 1998 UK CD single, where it appeared alongside “My Hero” and “Dear Lover.”

Rafferty’s original was a major 1978 hit from his album City to City, named after the famous London street. Its signature saxophone part, played by Raphael Ravenscroft, is one of the most recognizable sounds in late-1970s pop-rock. For their cover, the Foo Fighters replaced that saxophone feature with electric guitar, giving the song a heavier alternative-rock character.

The track was not included on every regional edition in exactly the same way. It also appeared on a Japanese special edition, a European bonus release and later on the tenth-anniversary remaster of The Colour and the Shape. This regional variation can cause confusion when listeners compare different versions of the single.
