What fictional magazine employs Andie Anderson in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days?

The story behind the answer

Andie Anderson works for the fictional magazine Composure in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

The 2003 romantic comedy stars Kate Hudson as Andie, a writer who produces practical relationship articles for Composure. Her editor assigns her to write an article about losing a man in ten days, while Matthew McConaughey’s Benjamin Barry makes a professional bet that he can make a woman fall in love with him during the same period.

Composure is an invented publication created for the film’s story. It is not the same as real fashion and lifestyle magazines such as Vogue, Cosmopolitan, or Allure. The magazine workplace gives the film its central professional setting and explains why Andie turns an unusual dating experiment into a written assignment. Donald Petrie directed the film, which was adapted from a book by Michele Alexander and Jeannie Long.
