The wardrobe in C.S. Lewis’s novel leads to Narnia, the fictional land at the center of The Chronicles of Narnia.
Lucy Pevensie is the first of the four siblings to discover the passage. On the other side, she meets the faun Mr. Tumnus and enters a world trapped in winter by the White Witch. Her brothers and sister later follow her through the wardrobe.
Narnia is not the same setting as J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth, although Lewis and Tolkien were close friends and members of the literary group known as the Inklings. Narnia contains talking animals, mythical creatures, human kingdoms, and the creator figure Aslan.
