What famous phrase is the Kool-Aid Man known for?
Answer
Oh Yeah
Answer
Oh Yeah
The famous phrase associated with the Kool-Aid Man is “Oh, yeah!” The advertising mascot typically shouted it after bursting through a wall, fence, ceiling, or other obstacle with a pitcher full of Kool-Aid.
The character began as the Pitcher Man in 1954, when artist Marvin Potts created a smiling pitcher for General Foods advertising. The design was based partly on the smiley faces Potts's young son drew on a frosted window. Arms and legs were added in the 1970s, turning the mascot into the energetic character widely recognized today.
Classic commercials often followed the same pattern: thirsty children called, “Hey, Kool-Aid!” and the Kool-Aid Man made a dramatic entrance before serving the drink. His catchphrase is therefore sometimes confused with the children's call, but they are different lines.
Kool-Aid itself was developed as a powdered drink mix by Edwin Perkins in Hastings, Nebraska. The brand was originally called Kool-Ade and was renamed Kool-Aid after General Foods acquired it in 1953.
