What award-winning Amazon TV series did the creator of "Gilmore Girls" create?

The award-winning Amazon TV series created by the creator of Gilmore Girls is The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Amy Sherman-Palladino created both series, bringing her trademark rapid-fire dialogue, strong female characters, and detailed family relationships to a very different setting.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2017. It follows Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a 1950s New York housewife who pursues a career in stand-up comedy after her marriage collapses. Rachel Brosnahan stars as Midge, with Tony Shalhoub, Alex Borstein, Michael Zegen, and Marin Hinkle among the principal cast.

The series became one of Amazon’s most acclaimed original programs. Its first season won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, and Sherman-Palladino won Emmys for writing and directing. The show ran for five seasons, concluding in 2023.

A common mix-up is confusing its creator with its distributor: Amazon released the series, but Sherman-Palladino and her husband, Dan Palladino, were its key creative forces.
