Frozen II earned a record-breaking $123.7 million over the five-day Thanksgiving holiday period in 2019. The Walt Disney Animation Studios sequel was already in its second weekend when it dominated the Wednesday-through-Sunday frame, setting a new Thanksgiving five-day record in North America.
The result surpassed the previous five-day Thanksgiving record held by The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which had taken roughly $109.9 million in 2013. Frozen II also earned about $85.2 million from Friday through Sunday during that holiday stretch, showing that its appeal extended well beyond its opening weekend.
The film opened in the United States on November 22, 2019, and reunited audiences with Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven. Its Thanksgiving performance is sometimes confused with its opening weekend, which was about $130 million domestically, or with later revised estimates that placed the five-day total near $125 million.
