What alternate name for Yggdrasil means 'Mimir's tree'?

The story behind the answer

The alternate name for Yggdrasil meaning “Mímir’s tree” is Mímameiðr.

Mímameiðr is an Old Norse name usually translated as “Mímir’s tree.” It appears in the poem Fjölsvinnsmál, where a tree’s branches extend across all lands, its fruit has protective qualities, and the golden rooster Víðópnir sits on its highest branch.

The poem does not simply provide a second name for Yggdrasil in an explicit gloss. However, the descriptions of Mímameiðr closely parallel those of Yggdrasil, and scholars generally identify them as the same cosmic tree or as closely connected manifestations of it. The related name Hoddmímis holt is likewise associated with Mímir and with the refuge of Líf and Lífþrasir after Ragnarök.

Mímameiðr should not be confused with Mímisbrunnr, which is Mímir’s well beneath one of Yggdrasil’s roots. Læraðr is another tree-name sometimes connected with Yggdrasil, while Glasir is a famous golden grove or tree associated with the gods.
