What 1932 Georgia O'Keeffe painting shows a flower enlarged to a monumental scale?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe's 1932 painting Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1 shows a single enlarged white jimson weed flower. Its monumental scale makes the blossom fill much of the composition, a characteristic feature of several of her flower paintings.

The work depicts a flower from the Datura or jimson weed plant, which grew around O'Keeffe's New Mexico home. She transformed a familiar natural object into a commanding abstract-like image by emphasizing its curves, folds, and tonal contrasts.

The painting became especially famous after being sold at auction in 2014 for $44.4 million. That sale established a record for the highest price paid for a painting by a female artist at the time.

It is sometimes confused with O'Keeffe's other flower paintings, including Black Iris and Red Canna. Those works are different subjects and dates, while Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1 is specifically associated with the 1932 white blossom.
