Answer
Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1
Georgia O'Keeffe's 1932 painting Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1 became the subject of a famous theft and recovery.
The large white-flower painting was stolen from the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe in 2006. It was recovered in 2017 after being discovered in an Arizona gallery, and the painting was returned to the museum.
The work is also notable for its later market history. In 2014, it sold at Sotheby's for $44.4 million, setting a record at the time for the highest price paid at auction for a work by a female artist.
The flower is a jimson weed, also called Datura. O'Keeffe painted enlarged flowers throughout her career, but the title identifies this particular 1932 canvas and distinguishes it from her other flower paintings.
