Fireworks may generally be set off until midnight on Bonfire Night in Great Britain.
UK regulations normally restrict the use of fireworks to the period between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. On 5 November, the evening allowance is extended by one hour, so fireworks may generally continue until midnight. New Year’s Eve, Chinese New Year, and Diwali also have a later 1 a.m. limit.
The rule concerns the normal public use of fireworks, including displays held at private homes. Local authorities and event organisers can impose stricter conditions, and professional displays must still comply with safety and licensing requirements.
This is separate from noise nuisance law and from rules about selling fireworks. A display can be within the permitted time yet still breach other regulations if it creates unreasonable danger or disturbance.
