Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 is the second numbered installment in the Tony Hawk’s video-game series.
Released in 2000, the game followed the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, which debuted in 1999. It was developed primarily by Neversoft and published by Activision, continuing the series’ trick-based skateboarding gameplay while expanding its environments, objectives, and customization.
One of its most important additions was the manual, a balancing trick that lets players connect separate moves into longer combinations. The sequel also introduced cash rewards in career mode, giving players more ways to improve skater attributes and progress through the game.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 was followed by Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 in 2001. It is sometimes confused with Pro Skater 2x, an enhanced Xbox release that bundled the sequel with additional content; 2x is not the series’ second numbered installment.
