The musician Noel Gallagher is from which musical act?

The story behind the answer

The musician Noel Gallagher is from the English rock band Oasis. He joined the Manchester group in 1991, becoming its lead guitarist, a co-lead vocalist, and its principal songwriter during its most influential period.

Oasis began as a band called The Rain before Liam Gallagher renamed it. Noel initially became involved after returning from touring as a technician with Inspiral Carpets. His songwriting helped shape the band’s signature sound, including songs such as “Live Forever,” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” and “Wonderwall.”

Oasis broke through with Definitely Maybe in 1994, followed by the hugely successful (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? in 1995. The band became one of the defining acts of the Britpop era, although Noel and his younger brother Liam were also famous for their frequent arguments.

Noel left Oasis in 2009 after a dispute with Liam. He later formed Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, but Oasis remains the act most closely associated with his career and songwriting legacy.
