Answer
Knightsbridge
Answer
Knightsbridge
The 1975 Spaghetti House siege happened at a branch in Knightsbridge, a district of London. The incident began as an attempted robbery at the restaurant and developed into a six-day hostage siege that ended on 3 October 1975.
Three armed men entered the Knightsbridge branch at about 1:30 a.m. on 28 September. They expected to seize the restaurant chain’s weekly takings, which managers routinely brought to the branch before depositing the money at a nearby bank. Staff hid the cash, while a manager escaped and alerted police.
The gunmen forced hostages into a small rear storeroom and barricaded the door. Police used prolonged negotiation, psychological advice, and early fibre-optic surveillance technology to monitor the room. All hostages were released unharmed. Two gunmen surrendered, while ringleader Franklin Davies shot himself in the stomach; all three were later imprisoned.
Chelsea, Camden, and Soho are also well-known London districts, but none is the location identified in the siege’s name and historical accounts. The Knightsbridge branch later closed in 2015 during redevelopment of the site.
