Answer
Old Course at St Andrews
The 150th Open Championship was played on the Old Course at St Andrews.
Held from 14 to 17 July 2022, the tournament returned to St Andrews in Fife, Scotland, widely known as the “home of golf.” It was the 30th Open Championship staged on the Old Course and marked the event’s 150th edition. The course played to a par of 72 and measured 7,297 yards for the championship.
The venue is famous for landmarks such as the Swilcan Bridge, the Road Hole at No. 17 and the wide double green shared by the 1st and 18th holes. The Old Course is not the same venue as other historic Open sites such as Royal Troon, Muirfield or Royal St George’s; those are separate courses that have hosted the championship.
Australia’s Cameron Smith won the 2022 title there with a score of 268, 20 under par, finishing one stroke ahead of Cameron Young. The tournament had originally been scheduled for 2021 but was postponed after the 2020 Open was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
