Taylor Swift’s “august” was co-written with which producer and songwriter?

Taylor Swift co-wrote “august” with Jack Antonoff.

Antonoff also co-produced the track and had already collaborated with Swift on songs from 1989, Reputation, and Lover. For “august,” Antonoff created the instrumental first and sent it to Swift, who wrote the lyrics in response.

The collaboration helped give the song its shimmering, layered sound. Its production combines reverberant guitars, strings, keyboards, and a pop-oriented arrangement that stands somewhat apart from the quieter folk textures heard elsewhere on Folklore.

Aaron Dessner is another major Folklore collaborator, which makes him a plausible mix-up. Dessner produced many songs on the album, but the credited co-writers of “august” are Swift and Antonoff.
