On which stock exchange is Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company primarily listed?
Answer
Taiwan Stock Exchange
Answer
Taiwan Stock Exchange
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is primarily listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
TSMC, also known as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, began trading on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in 1994. It also has American depositary receipts traded on the New York Stock Exchange, giving international investors another way to access its shares.
The company pioneered the dedicated semiconductor foundry model. Rather than designing chips under its own consumer brand, TSMC manufactures processors and other integrated circuits designed by customers such as Apple, Nvidia, and AMD.
The Taiwan listing is sometimes overlooked because TSMC’s American depositary receipts are widely followed in global financial markets. An ADR represents an ownership interest in shares held in the company’s home market; it does not replace the company’s primary listing.
