On what date was C.S. Lewis born?

C.S. Lewis was born on 29 November 1898. He was born in Belfast, Ireland, then part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

Lewis grew up in a Protestant family with his older brother, Warren. His childhood interest in mythology, medieval literature, and invented worlds later influenced his fiction, including The Chronicles of Narnia. He spent much of his adult academic life in England, first at Oxford and later at Cambridge.

His birth date is sometimes confused with his death date because both dates fall in November. Lewis died on 22 November 1963, exactly one week before his sixty-fifth birthday. That date also coincided with the deaths of President John F. Kennedy and writer Aldous Huxley.
