The 2026–27 Premier League season began on 21 August 2026.

The campaign opened earlier than the main Saturday schedule because Arsenal hosted Coventry City on Friday evening. The match was selected as the season opener, giving the defending champions the first competitive Premier League fixture of the new campaign.

The season calendar was adjusted around the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which was held during the off-season. As a result, the usual opening fixtures and final matchweek were moved by one week. The complete fixture list was released on 19 June 2026.

The 2026–27 season is the Premier League’s 35th season and the 128th top-flight season in English football. Twenty clubs are scheduled to compete, including promoted sides Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City.
