On what date did President Trump create the White House Task Force for America's 250th birthday?
Answer
January 29, 2025
President Donald Trump created the White House Task Force on Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday on January 29, 2025. The task force was established by Executive Order 14189.
Its purpose was to plan, organize, and execute a major celebration of American independence in 2026. The task force was formed after the congressional United States Semiquincentennial Commission had already been established in 2016.
That distinction matters because America250 is often used broadly for the entire national celebration. In organizational terms, however, the congressional commission and the White House task force are separate bodies with different origins and leadership structures.
