America250 events formally began on July 3, 2025, ahead of the United States Semiquincentennial.
This date marked the official start of America250 festivities, although related commemorations had already begun. The United States Army’s 250th Anniversary Parade took place on June 14, 2025, making it an earlier celebration connected with the anniversary year.
The main national milestone was scheduled for July 4, 2026, the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. America250 planning therefore stretched across several years, with programs beginning before the anniversary itself.
A common mix-up is confusing the formal America250 launch with the anniversary date or with the Army’s earlier parade. July 3, 2025, refers specifically to the start of America250 events, while July 4, 2026, is the semiquincentennial date.
