Near which New Mexico community is Georgia O'Keeffe's Ghost Ranch located?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe's Ghost Ranch is located near Abiquiu, New Mexico.

Ghost Ranch is a dramatic landscape in northern New Mexico, known for colorful cliffs, mesas, and broad desert views. O'Keeffe began visiting the area in the 1930s and made many paintings inspired by its formations.

She rented a house at Ghost Ranch before acquiring and restoring a separate home in the nearby village of Abiquiu. The two locations are related but should not be treated as the same place. Ghost Ranch was her retreat and subject-rich landscape; Abiquiu became her home.

Taos is another important northern New Mexico art center, but it is not the community associated most specifically with O'Keeffe's Ghost Ranch setting. The landscape's red and yellow cliffs became among the most recognizable environments in her work.
