In X-Men: First Class, what is the name of the mutant villain played by Kevin Bacon?

Sebastian Shaw is the mutant villain played by Kevin Bacon in X-Men: First Class.

Shaw is a powerful mutant who can absorb kinetic energy and redirect it as enhanced strength or destructive force. He leads the Hellfire Club and attempts to manipulate the United States and the Soviet Union into starting a nuclear war during the Cold War.

The film presents Shaw as a formative figure in the lives of the young Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr. His actions also connect directly to Erik’s childhood trauma, making the conflict personal as well as political.

Kevin Bacon’s portrayal is distinct from other X-Men antagonists. Bolivar Trask appears in Days of Future Past, William Stryker is associated with Wolverine and X2, and Donald Pierce is the antagonist of Logan.
