Alexandra Shipp plays the young Ororo Munroe, also known as Storm, in X-Men: Apocalypse.
The 2016 film introduces this version of Storm as a teenager living in Cairo. She is a thief who uses her weather-manipulating powers discreetly before encountering Apocalypse. The ancient mutant recruits her as one of his Four Horsemen and enhances her abilities.
Storm is a different character from Mystique, Jean Grey, and the older Storm portrayed by Halle Berry in the original X-Men trilogy. Alexandra Shipp’s performance establishes a younger interpretation of the weather-controlling mutant within the prequel timeline.
Storm later appears in Dark Phoenix, also played by Shipp. Her recognizable lightning and wind powers connect the prequel portrayal to the comic-book character and to the broader X-Men film continuity.
