In which year did Saudi Aramco complete its initial public offering?

The story behind the answer

Saudi Aramco completed its initial public offering in 2019.

Saudi Aramco began trading on the Saudi Stock Exchange, or Tadawul, in December 2019. The offering sold shares to investors in Saudi Arabia and raised about 25.6 billion US dollars, making it the largest initial public offering at that time.

The company is formally known as Saudi Arabian Oil Company. It traces its history to the discovery and development of Saudi oil resources by the California Arabian Standard Oil Company, later known as Aramco.

Saudi Aramco remains one of the world's most important energy companies, with activities spanning oil and gas exploration, production, refining, chemicals, and distribution. Its public listing made a small portion of the state-controlled company available to investors.
