Gilmore Girls ended its original television run in 2007. The final episode of the seven-season series aired on May 15, 2007, on The CW.
The original run began on The WB in 2000 and followed Rory from her final period before Chilton through high school, Yale, and the start of her journalism career. Lorelai’s story developed from inn management to ownership of the Dragonfly Inn and a long-running relationship with Luke Danes.
The final season was produced after creator Amy Sherman-Palladino left the series. David S. Rosenthal served as showrunner for that season.
The franchise later returned with a four-part Netflix revival in 2016. That revival is set years after the original finale, so it does not change the year in which the original television series ended.
