Elena Delle Donne won WNBA Rookie of the Year in 2013.
The Chicago Sky selected Delle Donne second overall in the 2013 WNBA draft. She immediately became one of the league’s most prominent young players and helped Chicago reach the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.
Delle Donne also led all players in voting for the 2013 WNBA All-Star Game, becoming the first rookie to do so. A concussion prevented her from playing in that game, but she still completed a memorable debut season.
Her career later included two WNBA Most Valuable Player awards, a championship with the Washington Mystics, and selection to multiple All-Star teams. She became the first WNBA player to join the 50–40–90 club, but that achievement came years after her Rookie of the Year season.
