In which year did Assassin's Creed Valhalla first launch?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed Valhalla first launched in 2020.

Ubisoft released Valhalla in November 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows, Stadia, and Amazon Luna. It was also released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S around the launch of those consoles. Ubisoft Montreal led development.

The game follows Eivor, a Viking who leaves Norway and helps establish a settlement in ninth-century England. Players can choose a male or female presentation for Eivor, while the character's name remains Eivor. The story combines Viking expansion, English kingdoms, Assassin activity, and the continuing modern-day narrative.

Valhalla followed Assassin's Creed Odyssey, released in 2018, and preceded the franchise's later focus on smaller-scale stealth in Assassin's Creed Mirage. Its release period is sometimes remembered as 2021 because major post-launch content continued after the original launch.
