In which Texas city did Georgia O'Keeffe teach at West Texas State Normal College?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe taught at West Texas State Normal College in Canyon, Texas.

O'Keeffe moved to Texas in 1916 and taught art at West Texas State Normal College in Canyon. The school, now West Texas A&M University, stood near the dramatic Palo Duro Canyon, whose landscape influenced her early paintings of the region.

Her Texas teaching years were important because they connected classroom work with a developing personal style. She produced drawings and paintings while teaching and later worked at the University of Texas at Austin.

Canyon is sometimes confused with Amarillo because Amarillo is the nearest large city and a major regional center. The college itself was in Canyon, about 15 miles south of Amarillo. This Texas period came before O'Keeffe's permanent association with northern New Mexico.
