Long Pond Studio is in New York’s Hudson Valley.
The studio is the setting for Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions, where Taylor Swift performs “august” and the rest of Folklore in stripped-down arrangements. The location is described as an isolated, forested recording studio near Aaron Dessner’s residence.
Long Pond had originally been a barn before being converted into a wooden cabin-style studio. Its rural setting, large windows, and surrounding woodland became a major part of the film’s intimate visual atmosphere.
The location is easy to confuse with Los Angeles because Swift also recorded parts of Folklore at her home studio, Kitty Committee. However, the Long Pond film itself was recorded primarily at the Hudson Valley studio, with Justin Vernon joining remotely from Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
