In which New York City borough did Georgia O'Keeffe paint skyscrapers?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe painted skyscrapers in Manhattan.

O'Keeffe lived in New York City during the 1920s, when Manhattan's rapidly expanding skyline became an important subject in her work. Paintings such as Radiator Building—Night, New York show her transforming architecture into simplified, dramatic modernist forms.

Her interest in skyscrapers helped distinguish her urban work from the flower paintings for which she is often best known. She treated tall buildings, night lighting, and geometric structures as subjects capable of expressing mood and abstraction.

The borough is sometimes overlooked because O'Keeffe later became closely associated with New Mexico. Manhattan, however, was central to her early professional life and to the period when she was represented and promoted by photographer and gallery owner Alfred Stieglitz.
