In which New Mexico village did Georgia O'Keeffe own a house and studio?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe owned a house and studio in Abiquiu, New Mexico.

O'Keeffe discovered the abandoned adobe compound in Abiquiu during the 1930s and became fascinated by its courtyard wall and distinctive black door. She eventually acquired the property in 1945 and had it restored. The house became her principal residence and studio from 1949 until the 1980s.

The Abiquiu home provided both privacy and direct access to the landscapes that inspired her. Its architecture, door, courtyard, and surrounding hills all appeared in her art. The property is now preserved as the Georgia O'Keeffe Home and Studio, a National Historic Landmark.

Abiquiu is often confused with Ghost Ranch, where O'Keeffe also lived and worked. Ghost Ranch is a wider landscape area; Abiquiu is the village containing her famous home and studio.
