In which New Mexico village did Georgia O'Keeffe maintain her principal home and studio?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe maintained her principal New Mexico home and studio in Abiquiú.

She moved into the Abiquiú property in 1949 after years of spending part of each year at Ghost Ranch. The house, which included a famous courtyard and black door, became one of the recurring architectural subjects in her paintings. Its setting gave her direct access to the landscapes that dominated her later career.

O'Keeffe continued to travel and maintained ties to New York, but Abiquiú became her main base after her permanent move west. The village is often mentioned alongside Ghost Ranch because both places shaped her New Mexico work. They should not be treated as the same location: Ghost Ranch lies farther north, while Abiquiú was the site of her home and studio.
