In which New Mexico village did Georgia O'Keeffe maintain a famous adobe home and studio?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe maintained a famous adobe home and studio in Abiquiu, New Mexico.

O'Keeffe discovered the abandoned adobe house in Abiquiu during the 1930s and acquired it in 1945. She had the building restored and used it as a home and studio. Its courtyard wall, door, and surrounding landscape became recurring subjects in her paintings.

The house offered a quieter setting than New York and placed her close to the northern New Mexico scenery that had inspired her since her first visit in 1929. She divided her time between Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch, later making Abiquiu her primary home.

Santa Fe is the larger nearby city and is closely associated with O'Keeffe's legacy, but it was not the village where this celebrated residence stood. The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum now preserves the house and studio as a historic site.
