In which New Mexico town did Georgia O'Keeffe live after moving there permanently in 1949?

The story behind the answer

After moving permanently to New Mexico in 1949, Georgia O'Keeffe lived in Abiquiú.

O'Keeffe moved to New Mexico after Alfred Stieglitz's death in 1946, settling permanently in the region in 1949. She later made her home and studio in an adobe compound at Abiquiú, a place whose walls, door, and surrounding landscape became recurring subjects in her work.

The Abiquiú house is especially associated with the famous door that O'Keeffe painted repeatedly. Its simple geometric form and stark contrast with the adobe wall became a deeply personal visual motif. She also spent time at Ghost Ranch, north of Abiquiú, where she painted cliffs, mesas, and broad desert views.

Abiquiú is often confused with Taos, another important New Mexico art center, or with Santa Fe, where O'Keeffe died. Her permanent home and studio were at Abiquiú, while Santa Fe became the location of the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum.
