In which New Mexico community is Georgia O'Keeffe's historic home?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe's historic home and studio is in Abiquiú, New Mexico.

O'Keeffe acquired the neglected adobe house in Abiquiú in 1945 and had it restored with the help of architect and builder Juan Hamilton. She began using it regularly and later made it her primary home after moving permanently to New Mexico.

The house includes a famous door opening onto a courtyard wall. O'Keeffe painted and photographed this architectural feature repeatedly, turning an ordinary detail of the property into a major artistic motif.

The Abiquiú residence is distinct from Ghost Ranch, another New Mexico place closely associated with O'Keeffe. Ghost Ranch supplied many landscape subjects, while the Abiquiú house became her working home and studio. The property is preserved by the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum.
