Keane Lewis-Potter opened Brentford’s scoring against Tottenham in the 12th minute of 2026–27 Matchweek 1.
The forward converted the chance created by new signing Mamadou Sangare, giving Brentford an early lead at home. It was an immediate sign of the attacking rhythm that carried the Bees to a 3–0 victory.
Brentford doubled their advantage through Vitaly Janelt before half-time. Michael Kayode then added a third goal after the break, while Igor Thiago missed a penalty that could have made the margin even larger.
Lewis-Potter had already established himself as an important attacking option for Brentford after joining from Hull City. He can play as a winger or forward and is valued for his movement, pace and willingness to press defenders.
The match also marked an important debut for Sangare, Brentford’s club-record signing. His assist helped create a perfect beginning for the midfielder and a convincing opening-day win for Brentford.
