Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood takes place primarily in Rome.
Released in 2010, Brotherhood continues Ezio Auditore’s story after Assassin’s Creed II. Much of the game is set in Renaissance Rome, where the Borgia family controls the city through political and military power. Ezio works to weaken their influence and rebuild the local Assassin Brotherhood.
The game’s Rome is a large open world containing landmarks such as the Colosseum, the Pantheon and Castel Sant’Angelo. Players can recruit and train Assassins, who can then assist Ezio during missions. This recruitment system is one of Brotherhood’s most recognizable additions.
Florence and Venice are strongly associated with Assassin’s Creed II, so they are common alternatives in quizzes. Brotherhood does revisit other locations in limited sequences, but Rome is its principal setting and the city most closely tied to its campaign.
