Answer
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Answer
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Toadette first appeared in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2003. She was introduced as Toad’s racing partner and was designed specifically to give Toad a counterpart for the game’s two-character kart teams.
In Double Dash!!, Toad and Toadette were initially unlockable characters rather than standard racers. Their special item was the Super Mushroom, later known in much of the series as the Golden Mushroom. This debut is sometimes confused with Toadette’s later, more prominent appearances in platformers and role-playing games.
Toadette became a playable character in several later Mario Kart titles, including Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 8, Mario Kart Tour, and Mario Kart World. She also appeared in games such as Mario Party 6 and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, where she teaches Mario new abilities.
Her best-known modern transformation is Peachette, created when Toadette uses the Super Crown in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. That later popularity can make her seem like a main-series character from the beginning, but her franchise debut was firmly in a racing spin-off.
