In which country is the Roskilde Festival held?
Answer
Denmark
Answer
Denmark
Roskilde Festival is held in Denmark.
The festival takes place near the city of Roskilde on the island of Zealand. It was first organized in 1971 and has grown into one of Northern Europe’s largest music and culture festivals.
Roskilde began with a broad rock-oriented focus but now presents artists from many genres, alongside art installations, talks, and other cultural activities. It is organized by the Roskilde Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose work supports humanitarian and cultural causes.
The festival is sometimes confused with similarly named Scandinavian events or with Denmark’s NorthSide Festival. Roskilde’s location near Copenhagen and its long history distinguish it from those events. A notable part of its identity is the audience-run volunteer culture that supports much of the festival’s operation.
