Ross marries Emily in London in Friends.

Ross and Emily’s wedding takes place in London during the two-part fourth-season finale, “The One with Ross’s Wedding.” The story brings the main characters from New York to England for the ceremony, although Phoebe stays behind because she is pregnant and Rachel initially remains in New York.

During the ceremony, Ross accidentally says Rachel’s name instead of Emily’s. The mistake creates the central crisis of the finale and leads to the breakdown of the marriage almost immediately after the wedding. Emily later demands that Ross end his friendship with Rachel before she will live with him.

The London episodes were filmed partly on location and include recognizable settings such as Westminster Abbey and the Tower Bridge area. The wedding is often confused with Monica and Chandler’s wedding, which occurs later in the series in New York.
