In which city did Adele Live 2016 begin on 29 February 2016?

Adele Live 2016 began in Belfast on 29 February 2016.

The opening date launched Adele’s first major tour since her Adele Live 2011 performances. Belfast was the starting point for a concert itinerary supporting her third studio album, 25, which had been released in November 2015 and included “Hello,” “When We Were Young” and “Send My Love (To Your New Lover).”

The tour then moved through the United Kingdom and Ireland before expanding across Europe, North America and Oceania. Its opening Belfast performance received strong reviews, helping establish the tour’s reputation for Adele’s powerful vocals, intimate storytelling and elaborate arena production.

The date can cause confusion because the tour’s title is “Adele Live 2016–2017,” even though its first show took place in 2016. The Belfast date was also a leap day: 29 February occurs only in leap years, making the opening night especially distinctive.
