In which California city is LinkedIn's headquarters?

LinkedIn's headquarters is in Sunnyvale, California. The city sits in Silicon Valley, the technology region south of San Francisco and near major companies, universities, and venture-capital firms.

LinkedIn was founded in 2003 by Reid Hoffman and several colleagues, initially operating from Mountain View. As the company expanded, its corporate base became associated with Sunnyvale, where LinkedIn lists its headquarters and primary address. The company also maintains offices in cities around the world.

A common mix-up is Mountain View, because LinkedIn's earliest operations were connected with that city and because both places are prominent Silicon Valley locations. Palo Alto and San Francisco are also nearby technology centers, but neither is LinkedIn's headquarters city. LinkedIn became a Microsoft subsidiary after Microsoft's acquisition closed in 2016, while its headquarters remained in Sunnyvale.
