In which 2019 film did Beyoncé voice the lioness Nala?
Answer
The Lion King
Answer
The Lion King
Beyoncé voiced the lioness Nala in the 2019 film The Lion King.
Directed by Jon Favreau, the film is a photorealistic computer-animated remake of Disney’s 1994 traditionally animated film. Beyoncé joined a cast that included Donald Glover as Simba, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, and James Earl Jones as Mufasa.
The story follows Simba, a young lion who must reclaim his position as king after a family tragedy and a period of exile. Nala is Simba’s childhood friend and later becomes his partner in challenging Scar’s rule.
Beyoncé also contributed the original song “Spirit” to the film’s soundtrack. The project should not be confused with Black Is King, her 2020 visual album inspired by the music of The Lion King: The Gift.
