In what year did the Mongols complete the conquest of the Jin dynasty?

The story behind the answer

The Mongols completed their conquest of the Jin dynasty in 1234.

The Mongol–Jin War began in 1211 and lasted more than two decades. The Jin dynasty was founded by the Jurchens and controlled much of Manchuria and northern China. Genghis Khan began the invasion, while later campaigns were led by commanders including Muqali, Ögedei, Tolui, and Subutai.

The final campaign centered on Caizhou, where the last Jin emperor, Aizong, took refuge. The Southern Song joined the Mongols against the Jin, helping create a two-sided siege. Aizong committed suicide on 9 February 1234, and his successor, Emperor Mo, was killed almost immediately. These events ended the Jin dynasty.

The year 1279 is associated with the Yuan conquest of the Southern Song, not the Jin. 1227 marks the death of Genghis Khan and the destruction of Western Xia, while 1206 was the year Temüjin was proclaimed Genghis Khan.
