The revival follows Frasier after his long-running Chicago television career concludes. Instead of returning to KACL, Frasier takes a position teaching at Harvard.
The new series is a continuation of the original Frasier rather than a remake. Kelsey Grammer returned as the title character, while the main ensemble introduced new characters including Freddy, college professor Alan Cornwall, and Harvard department head Olivia Finch. Several original cast members appeared as guests, including Peri Gilpin as Roz Doyle and Bebe Neuwirth as Lilith Sternin.
The first season premiered with two episodes on October 12, 2023. A second season followed in September 2024, although Paramount+ canceled the revival after two seasons in 2025.
